Eagel Boat Docks highly recommends Formex® Floatation
Built To Last
Rugged Molded Shell - made from high density,
high molecular weight polyethylene, a material which
is also used for automotive gas tanks and canoes.
The high tensile strength shell is resistant to impacts
and is impermeable to water. The ultraviolet radiation
resistant shell protects the foam core from wave action,
animals, marine organisms and gasoline.

Installs Quickly Refloating Made Easy Quick Connect Strips - a unique patented time tested feature that allows fast,
secure, easy mounting, 5/16" thick by 3-7/8" wide Quick Connect Strips are located horizontally along the perimeter of
the top surface). Simplicity of design allows great flexibility while maintaining a positive strong attachment. (See figure 1)
Hunt Absorption Testing - Formex® uses the highest quality EPS foam
cores by regularly testing the foam following the Hunt Absorption test procedure.

Superior Tested Core
Premolded Solid Foam Core - made from top grade Expanded polystyrene
(EPS) foam that conforms and thermally fuses to the shell. A premolded solid
foam block means there is no loose fill and minimizes voids that can fill with water,
reducing buoyancy. The foam is encapsulated using a patented process that allows
the foam blocks to be inspected before processing, insuring it is of the highest quality.

Reliable/Secure - Formex® Floats have survived major hurricanes remaining attached to docks that were decimated by the
storms. Formex® has been in business since 1961 making products for industrial and retail applications. Our reputation for
quality and integrity has brought us customers from every state and internationally, making us a leader in flotation sales.

Formex® Float Features

Armor Shell - High impact strength, high molecular weight,
polyethylene shell. Passes Hunt Puncture Test.

Integral Bond - Foam thermally bonds to shell, minimizing
space between shell and foam.

Patented Mounting Strips - Four extra wide, super thick mounting
strips provide easy direct attachment.

Positive Strong Grip - 3/8" lag bolts provide over 500 pounds in
straight pullout force. (lag bolts are not supplied with floats)

Versatile - Works for most dock frames whether it is a new
or retrofitted dock.

Solid Core - Unique process permits each foam block to be
inspected prior to encapsulation.

Formex® Floats Carry a 12 year Limited Warranty
Meets U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulation: ER 1130-2-406

Mounting

Formex® Floats can be directly mounted to most any type of construction
material using lag screws. Patented Quick Connect Strips along the perimeter
of the top surface allow attachment along their length or width. Some examples
are Bar Joist, "C" Channel and "I" Beam.
The Formex® Advantage

Premolded Solid Foam Core

Formex® uses only top grade expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam.
Encapsulated using a patented process that allows a shell to be
molded around a premolded solid foam block.

    - No Loose fill which means your floatation will not leak out if the
      shell is punctured.
    - Inspection of foam blocks before encapulation insures it is the
highest quality to minimize water absorption.

"Formex® uses the highest quality EPS foam cores by regularly
testing the foam following the Hunt Absorption Test"

Rugged Molded Shell

Formex® uses high molecularweight polyethylene, a material which
is also used for atuomotive gas tanks, canoes, 55-gallon drums and
truck bed liners.

   - High in tensile strength for resistance to impacts.
   - Ultraviolet radiation resistant to guard against material breakdown.
   - Impervious to water and protects the foam core from wave action
and gasoline which can erode foam.
   - Resistant to attack from animals and marine organisms
Formex® Floats
Formex® uses a patented process that allows the use
of a solid precut block of EPS foam.

Advantages:
   - Ability to randomly test each batch of foam for water absorption.
   - Each block is measured to confirm that it meets specified tolerances.
   - Beads are expanded in a mold forming a solid block, then cut to size
thus no loose beads and no probe voids.
   - Fully expanded foam means a solid pack that does not
compress easily under ice pressure or other flotation loads.
